Devereux’s takes part in several types of events:
Majors- the English Civil War Society comes together two to four times a year to take part in large battle displays with as many as 1000 participants fighting on the field. Cavalry, artillery and of course the regiments of infantry all take part in these weekend long events
Regimental Invited events- the are often much smaller events and very often have a mixed military and civilian theme to them. Sometimes there will be a story line based around the activities of the regiments (and invited regiments) activities. These events give the regimental members the opportunity to display their period civilian skills such as cooking and embroidery.
Multi Group events – sometimes we are asked by events contractors to work with other societies to put on specialist events. We have worked alongside the Sealed Knot for various organisations such as English Heritage, The National Trust and CADW
